A Message From the President

Welcome!

          Welcome to The Ohio State University chapter of Sigma Gamma Tau, the honor society for aerospace engineering.  Our chapter is primarily a service organization for aerospace education, with our membership consisting of students who have been recognized as a credit to their profession through achievement and character.  Members participate in activities such as tutoring, mentoring, hosting prospective students, and serving on academic committees.

          Each year, the chapter organizes the Aerospace Department Banquet, during which new members are inducted.  At the same time, it is a celebration of our department’s rich legacy and bright future.  Past speakers at the ceremony have included senator and astronaut John Glenn as well as the renowned aerospace engineering educator Dr. John Anderson.  Sigma Gamma Tau also coordinates the selection of a faculty member for its Outstanding Teaching Award which is announced at the event.  In addition to the recognition of scholarship, the honorary exists to promote fellowship among aerospace students.  We organize social activities with the student chapter of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) at Ohio State, such as the annual AIAA-SGT flag football game each spring.
